Charlize Theron reveals costume pain

Charlize Theron says her film costumes were "more damaging" than the fight sequences in Snow White and The Huntsman.

The actress stars as evil Queen Ravenna in the upcoming drama - an adaption of the classic fairytale, also starring Kristen Stewart.

Stewart - who plays Snow White in the movie - comes to blows with Theron's character.

"The costumes were more damaging than the actual fight sequences," Theron told MTV News.

"I was way more bruised from my costume than I was from [fighting with Stewart]."

The film also stars Australian Chris Hemsworth, and Theron says the actor got a better deal when it came to his garb.

"Doing a fight sequence in your sweatpants is different than wearing an 80-pound steel thing. I don't know, you were in leather," she said to him.

"It's different. [Stewart] was in full metal, I was in full metal, just getting down, it took us four hours," she said of the setting involved in filming her showdown with Stewart.

The film's costume designer Colleen Atwood has previously revealed that despite the restrictive costumes, she had fun creating looks for Theron.

"You can't design for [Queen] Ravenna without having Charlize to work the costume. We had a great time. She wanted to have fun with it and not be too strapped into the cliche of an evil queen. She wanted to be a person too and later becomes sort of mad. The [costumes] get more and more spectral and bug-like as the movie progresses," she said.
