Charlize Theron calls 'bullshit' on Fassbender Oscar snub

Charlize Theron has called Michael Fassbender's Oscar snub "utter bullshit".

The pair star together in Ridley Scott's Alien prequel Prometheus. And now Theron has joined the chorus of voices who think Fassbender was robbed in not being nominated for portrayal of a sex addict in Steve McQueen's recent drama Shame.

She told You magazine: "My co-star Michael Fassbender is one of the funniest guys Ive ever been around. I saw him in Shame, in which he plays a sex addict, and I didn't stop thinking about that film for weeks."

Theron continued: "No disrespect to the people who were nominated for Oscars, but the fact he wasn't to me was utter bullshit. I think he's incredible. He's so effortless that I want to punch him! It just seeps out of him."

In Prometheus, Theron plays Weyland Corporation employee Meredith Vickers while Fassbender plays the ship's android David. The film opens in the UK this Friday (June 1). You can watch them both in action in the trailer below.
