Charlize Theron fires up a flamethrower in new Prometheus clip

One of the biggest mysteries in Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus (apart from our potential alien origins, of course) is the role of Charlize Theron, who plays Weyland Corporation representative Meridith Vickers onboard the ship. Well, this latest clip sheds some light on her roleand it looks pretty badass, judging by her nifty flamethrower skills.

The clip includes some new footage, and Theron opens up about Vickers' dynamic with the team and how she fits in with the mission. Basically, she's a control freak representing the company and does not want to let those pesky scientists screw things up.

We get to see her in action here, trying to hold off what appears to be a crew member from entering the ship, and she shows no qualms with blasting the guy with a faceful of flames to get her way.

Prometheus opens June 8.
