New York, May 27 : With most of the spas using hot milk bath for that extra radiance, Charlize Theron's milk bath in the upcoming flick might only add to the speed of the quickly growing fad.

The sight Charlize Thero! n (as th e youth- and beauty-obsessed evil queen) soaking in a bathtub full of milk may be a chance to ogle the 37-year-old bombshell, but for many others it can become a beauty-routine inspiration.

At Tribeca's, which is a newly opened AIRE Ancient Baths spa, a similar dip ' part of the three-hour 'Kerala Ritual' package is priced at the astounding amount of 500 dollars, the New York Daily reported.

But don't worry about freezing in a cold tub as the milk is heated to 98 degrees.

Bliss Spa, offers a hot milk and almond pedicure, while the Setai Club, uses warm goat milk in a hair and scalp revitalizer.

SoHo's Haven spa offers a number of treatments that use milk prominently.

'It's said that Cleopatra took milk baths and she was the most beautiful woman in the world,' said Gabrielle Ophals, co-founder of Haven.

And after seeing Theron take a similar dip, Ophals predicts that other women will want to give it a shot.

'Women today are very proactive when it comes to doing what they can to attain beauty, so seeing this movie's milk bath could absolutely influence people to try it,' she said.

So what is it the reason behind the milk soon catching up as high-end beauty treatment'

'Milk is rich in a multitude of vitamins and minerals ' most notably Vitamin E and zinc ' which help slow the process of aging and retain skin's natural elasticity,' said Manny Ramirez, treatment director at the Setai Spa Wall Street.

'Natural enzymes, such as lactic acid, eliminate dead surface cells, leaving remaining skin radiant and youthful,' said Ramirez

And that's not something that can be availed only at a high-priced spa.

Home-beauty enthusiasts are also getting in on the lactic action as shelves from Rite Aid to Barneys are stocked with milk-based products promising to work wonders for the complexion.

Still, if you want to glow the way Queen Ravenna does, you might need more than just a goat's milk-spiked bath powder or lactic acid facial to do the magic.

'I don't know how much a quart of milk in a tub of water will do to enhance your skin,' said Ophals.

'If you're really looking for the full Snow White effect, try soaking in a tub full of milk,' she added. (ANI)
