Prometheus' Charlize Theron returns to the stars in pulpy Agent 13

It may not have the most alluring title, but the lovely actress's next project after wrapping up her role as a corporate creep in Prometheus has her punching her passport for another secret sci-fi ride, this time with Rise of the Apes' director Rupert Wyatt. Pray it's nothing like Aeon Flux.

Variety reports writer T.S. Nowlin is working on the action screenplay said to be a spy thriller set in the future. (No amnesiacs please) Nowlin is a hot commodity in Hollywood circles right now, selling his Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday gunslinger script Wild Guns to Warner Bros., and setting up two other high-profile historical projects, Columbus and Marco Polo. Interest for the mystery movie is rabid at Warner Bros., Sony, Universal and 20th Century Fox so be prepared for outlandish six-figure announcements in the future.

Theron's stature as an A-List star is reaching molten levels lately with her turns in two huge summer tentpoles, Prometheus and Snow White and the Huntsman. While the cloak and dagger routine continues on Agent 13 and its clandestine plot specifics, we'll patiently wait and satiate ourselves for now with her Weyland bitch turn and evil queenery.

So, is Charlize suited for sci-fi or should she get out of the galaxy for good?
