Charlize Theron to star in Agent 13

Charlize Theron is to star in sci-fi movie 'Agent 13'.

The 36-year-old actress will be directed by 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' helmer Rupert Wyatt for the project, which has attracted studio suitors Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal, and 20th Century Fox.

T.S. Nowlin has penned the script for the movie, but full details of the film are yet to emerge, with Charlize's part being kept a secret, Variety reports.

'Agent 13' is not the only sci-fi movie the blonde beauty has been attached to lately, as later this year she will appear in Sir Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' alongside Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender.

Charlize stars as space exploration company ex ecutive Meredith Vickers in the forthcoming film, and she has previously described her character as "somewhat of a villain".

She recently said: "I actually don't play the heroine in it; that's Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it."

"[My character] is not a believer, she's not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through. She's working with the company that's sponsoring this whole thing and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She's more quiet thunder."
