CinemaCon to honour Charlize Theron

31 Mar Oscar-winner Charlize Theron will be receiving CinemaCon's 2012 Distinguished Decade of Achievement Award on 26 April at the theater owner's convention's award ceremony in Las Vegas, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Over the past decade, Charlize Theron has proven that as an actor, she can do it all. Whether her role be comedic or dramatic, she never ceases to entertain audiences with her unique ability to capture the essence of any character," said CinemaCon general manager Mitch Neuhauser.

Best-known for her brilliant portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in 2003's "Monster" and becoming the first African actress who won the Academy Awards for her performance in the movie, Theron continues her acting effort in "The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers", "North Country" and she received another Golden Globe nomination for her role in "Young Adults" earlier this year.

This summer, audience will not only have the opportunity to watch the 36-year-old actress star in Universal's "Snow White And The Huntsman" as the evil queen, alongside Kristin Stewart, but fans will also get the chance to see Theron in Ridley Scott's sci-fi film "Prometheus", which also stars Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba.

"Snow White And The Huntsman" and "Prometheus" will be released in Malaysian cinemas on 31 May and 7 June this year respectively.
