Actress Charlize Theron Adopts Baby Boy

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has become the latest Hollywood A-lister to adopt a child.

The star's publicist confirmed the news in a statement saying she is a "proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson".

No more details were provided.

This is South African-born Theron's first baby. She split with her long-time partner British actor Stuart Townsend in 2010 after nine years together.

The 36-year-old won an Academy Award for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in 2003 movie Monster.

Other single stars to adopt a child include Sandra Bullock , Madonna and Angelina Jolie , who adopted her first child before she met Brad Pitt.
