There are almost too many reasons to admire Charlize Theron, an Oscar-winning HIV awareness advocate with an angelic face and a crafty way with fruit. Though the longtime Dior spokeswoman has been a darling of the fashion industry since the very start of her career, she doesn't appear to take her fashion plate status too seriously, often heading out for errands dressed very, very down. We're talking sweat pants down.

Though Theron regularly avoids the paparazzi, her off-the-clock shots reveal a knack for making style statements out of unlikely combinations. The South Africa native has been preparing us all for the return of the much-maligned Canadian tuxedo, also known as denim-on-denim.

While it looks great on Charlizeas would a burlap bagthis isn't exactly easy to pull off. Bryan Adams filmed his video for "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" in pretty much the same look. There are a few crucial updates keeping this ensemble from looking too early '90s revival.

Charlize hasn't delved into full-on Canadian tuxedo territory, as she's always careful to choose denims of different weights and hues. Theron is a fan of lightweight chambray shirts (so popular these days, with particularly sweet versions available at Madewell), which she typically pairs with darker pants.

Fit
Theron's not flitting around in sloppy, floppy boyfriend jeans. She balances out the looseness of her chambray shirts with slim fits by the likes of Current Elliot.

Accessories
Not everyone has buttery leather Dior bags on hand, but it's not hard to replicate Charlize's simple, sophisticated vibe with plain leather satchels (a bright neon version would be particularly fun for spring), black knee-high boots, and the right pair of shades.
