Charlize Theron to star in Fred Savage comedy film 'Ladies Night'

The 37-year-old actress, who recently starred in the fantasy film "Snow White and the Huntsman," is set to star in Savage and David Ellison's upcoming comedy, "Ladies Night," according to Reuters.

The actress is set to play a woman whose boyfriend is unable to commit fully to their relationship. She plans to move to New York, but before leaving home has one last night out with her close friends. The outlet adds that it's a "Bridesmaids" meets "The Hangover" kind of comedy.

Savage, who is best known for his starring role in "The Wonder Years," is set to direct the film from David Caspe's script. Theron will also produce the film through her Denver & Delilah production company, as well as with colleagues Beth Kono, A.J. Dix, Ellison and Dana Goldberg.

No other casting for the comedy film has been announced.

In January, it was reported that Theron would be executive producing a new pilot, "Hatfields & McCoys" - which is a modern-day take on the notorious 1860s conflict - for NBC.

The drama is set in present-day Pittsburgh and begins when a startling death reignites the legendary feud between the previously opposing families. Unearthing decades of resentment, the blue collar McCoys will put the Hatfields' wealth and power at risk as they go to war for control of the city.

Theron is set to executive produce the pilot episode alongside Dix, Dawn Olmstead and Beau Flynn, with "Eagle Eye" writer John Glenn set to pen the script.

The drama, which hails from ABC Studios, Denver & Delilah, Tower Hill, Beau Flynn Productions and Grady Girl, does not yet have a release date.

Theron is known for her work in films such as "Monster," "The Italian Job" and "Hancock," as well as her 2012 ! sci-fi my! stery "Prometheus." The actress also has producing credits with a number of films including "Monster," "Sleepwalking" and her 2011 film "Young Adult," which earned her a Golden Globe nod for Best Actress.
