Charlize Theron to star in a crime thriller

After playing villains in "Prometheus" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" in 2012, Theron has many new projects in the pipeline. The 37-year-old actress is now looking to take part in a criminal intrigue by Dan Nowak, the screenwriter of US TV drama "The Killing."

Not much is known about the plot of the as-yet-untitled movie, described as similar to "End of Watch" and "The Departed."

Before then, Theron will film the comedies "A Million Ways to Die in the West" and "Ladies Night." She will also play the lead role inGilles Paquet-Brenner's"Dark Places," a psychological criminal drama based on a bestseller by Gillian Flynn.
