Charlize Theron Taking Fred Savage On Ladies Night

Charlize Theron has decided to take Fred Savage out for Ladies Night, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Friday, THR noted that Theron had been developing the Bridesmaids-esque comedy under her Denver and Delilah banner for a possible 2014 shoot and 2015 release.

Savage would handle directing chores should negotiations progress as expected.

The plot will focus on a woman (Theron) whose commitment-deficient boyfriend spurns her to one last night on the town before she decides to uproot her life and move to New York.

While most television fans know Savage from dramedy The Wonder Years in which he played protagonist Kevin Arnold, his latest TV work may have played unnoticed.

Since 1999, Savage has been a prolific television director, and by prolific, we mean his IMDb resume features 50 titles and only one of those efforts is a feature film 2007s Daddy Day Camp (yes, we know).

But dont let the films 2.6 / 10 IMDb rating fool you. Savage has earned a solid reputation behind the camera on series like Modern Family, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Happy Endings.

And speaking of Happy Endings, Savage will re-team with series writer David Caspe for Ladies Night, so along with Therons darkly comic sensibilities see Young Adult this project could be a lot of fun.

As for Theron, she has been on a mean streak late! ly with villainous roles in Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus, and Young Adult (again, watch it and youll see what we mean).

This role along with her upcoming part in Seth MacFarlanes A Million Ways to Die in the West could signal a career shift if not for the fact shell probably be going all crazy on us again when Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters.

Do you think Charlize Theron should do more comedy? Also, what are your thoughts on Ladies Night, and would you like to see Fred Savage take the job?
