Charlize Theron On For Crime Thriller
Ah, lovely Charlize Theron. Last time we saw her she was highstepping with Magic Mike himself, Channing Tatum, at the Oscars and before that owning it as evil mirror-botherer Ravenna in Snow White And The Huntsman. And before that she was being chased by a giant space cruller in Prometheus.
Her newest project - a so-far untitled crime thriller for Paramount - is grittier and more Earthbound than any of those. Highstepping aside.
With a script by Dan Nowak, writer of AMC's The Killing, the film is pitched as similar in tone to The Departed (another Theron project) and End Of Watch. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story revolves around a group of corrupt vigilante cops. No word on whether Theron will be one of Alonzo Harrises or one of the Serpicos.
It's another addition to a full-looking Theron dancecard, with an adaptation of Gillian 'Gone Girl' Flynn's Dark Places, SethMcFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West and Fred Savage's Ladies Night ahead. Here's our guide to the best (and least best) of her enviable CV to date.
