Charlize Theron is up to no good in Prometheus

Last week, the first Prometheus trailer was unleashed. It had quick cuts, dim lighting, and Charlize Theron doing push ups. In the film, Theron plays a woman named Meredith Vickers, and she's not to be trusted! According to the actress, her character is nobody's hero.

Theron recently spoke to Total Film about her role in Prometheus and revealed she's not one of the good guys. When asked if she'll be the movie's answer to Ellen Ripley she replied, "No, I actually don't play the heroine in it; that's Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it."

Apparently, Ms. Vickers will be apart of the problem instead of the solution. Theron continued, "She's not believer, she's not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through. She's working with the company that's sponsoring this whole thing and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She's more quiet thunder."

Darn those money-hungry business types! Whenever a film focuses on a major scientific discovery, they always get in the way. In terms of story and style, Prometheus has a lot to live up to, but Theron isn't worried. She's convinced, "You're going to be very, very happy." And judging from the response to the trailer, most people agree.

Prometheus opens June 8.
