Charlize Theron goes to dark places
Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron will play a role as Massacre Survivor in her next film Dark Places. Other than playing, she will also produce the film.
The Hitfix reported, Dark Places, directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, focuses on the sole survivor of a massacre, Libby Day. She testified in court against her brother, who seemed responsible for the murder. After 25 years, a group of investigators who believe her brother is innocent in the crime supports her to track down more witnesses and possible suspects.
The movie is adapted from the New York Times Best Seller book Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. It was Amy Adams who was a candidate for the role, but the reason why she bailed is unknown, reported Cinema Blend. The film has already sold at the European Film Market in Berlin.
Theron will produce the film with partners Beth Kono and AJ Dix. Exclusive Medias Guy East and Nigel Sinclair will also produce and finance the film. Sinclair said in a statement that they are delightful to be teaming up with Charlize and other people, reported Hitfix.
Theron recently finished George Milers Mad Max: Fury Road, which will be released in theaters in 2014.
