NBC has ordered the drama pilot "Hatfields & McCoys," a modern-day tale of the famously warring families from a team that includes executive producer Charlize Theron.

Bing: See Charlize Theron's buzz cut

The series bears no relation -- get it? get it? -- to History's hit miniseries of the same name, which aired last year. But it does trade on the same legend of feuding West Virginia families.

In the new version, the families have moved to nearby Pittsburgh, where a startling death reignites the feud. The blue-collar McCoys battle the wealthy Hatfields for control of the city.

And no, they aren't fighting over which family gets to not be in charge of Pittsburgh, which is a lovely place, if you've never been.

The series is written and executive produced by John Glenn, with Theron, A.J. Dix, Dawn Olmstead, and Beau Flynn also executive producing. It comes from ABCS, Denver & Delilah, Tower Hill, Beau Flynn Productions and Grady Girl.
