As Hollywood's hottest starlets spend the day struggling into shapewear, fretting over their gowns and donning glittery jewels that cost more than we will make in a lifetime, we perused our archives for the looks that have come to define Golden Globes fashion glory.

With all the hyperventilating we've done over Anne Hathaway's backless sequined Giorgio Armani Prive gown from the 2011 Golden Globes or Charlize Theron's glamorous Christian Dior from last year's ceremony, it should come as no surprise who heads up our list.

But there may be a couple of surprises. On its own, the yellow Nina Ricci cocktail dress Reese Witherspoon wore to the 2007 Golden Globes is a winner, but paired with new asymmetrical bangs and red satin shoes in the wake of her br! eak-up from Ryan Phillippe, it became an iconic eat-your-heart-out look. We actually had a tough time choosing from Jennifer Lopez's Globe looks: She's donned a tangerine gown with a goddess-like gold belt and a black, sari-inspired look, but our favorite was the white gown she wore to the 2011 Golden Globes the elegant, fitted chiffon gown was topped with a crystal-studded capelet for sheer drama.
